Salon

Salon Culture

Salons (commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries) are a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the palate around good food, great drink and lively conversation.

Then & Now

Historically held in the grand suites of socialites in cities like Paris, Vienna, Berlin and Weimar, salons were often referred to as the engine of enlightenment. In our modern era, salons across the globe are seeing a renaissance as (once again) people are drawn by a strong desire to spend time in community, leaning in for bold conversation and great drink.
